"Taking Yourself to the Next Level"

The Monthly Newsletter from Don Sardella, Business Development Coach for Financial Consultants/Advisors – Dec 2005

Seasons Greetings

Best to you as we quickly wrap up 2005 – may you finish well.

I intend to issue one more newsletter before January 1st, with ideas to start 2006 strong.

For now, I want to express my deepest appreciation for the opportunity to be a part of your life and professional pursuits during this past year. It is my joy to do all I can to serve you in this way. I especially value your trust and flexibility as you navigated through unanticipated challenges that almost always come with any worthwhile journey. For that, I thank you and I look forward to doing all we can to make 2006 a banner year.

To gain additional reflective perspective this month, I thought it would be helpful to review some brief written exercises that I have done in the past. It occurred to me that you may want to invest a few minutes to derive some perspective for your self as well.

Here is a brief, suggested self-survey, based upon the book, Life Matters. The book discusses how we can achieve success in the four main areas of our life–work, family, time, and money. And where we can derive the wisdom to continually balance the four in the ever-changing kaleidoscope of circumstances in which we live. For survey, visit link

I think another good snapshot to take this time of year can come from the highly recommended book, The Power of Full Engagement. By full engagement, we mean physically energized, emotionally connected, mentally focused and spiritually aligned. Full engagement requires drawing on each of these four sources of energy. All of them are necessary, none is sufficient by itself and each influences the others. The following Profile will give you a sense of your level of engagement in each of the four dimensions.

Lastly, how would you like to receive a daily dose of encouragement? For example:

ALWAYS TRY TO DO YOUR BEST AT EVERYTHING.
-----------------------------------------------
“Make it your life rule of living to always do your best. It's your constant effort to be first-class in everything you attempt that will help you conquer the heights of excellence. Let superiority become your trademark.

Do a little more each day than you think you possibly can. There is always a best way of doing everything. Find it. Do a little more than average and from that point on your progress multiplies itself out of all proportion to the effort you put out.

Do more than you're supposed to do and you can or be or do or have anything you want. If you want to enjoy enduring success, try traveling a little in advance of the rest of the world. Your greatness will come from being great in the little things.”

or

LIFE IN ABUNDANCE COMES ONLY THROUGH GREAT LOVE.
-----------------------------------------------
“Without love, your life will echo with emptiness. With it, your life vibrates warmth and meaning. Even during times of hardship, love always shines through. There is no force more potent than love. Take away love and your earth is a tomb.

If you have it, you don't need to have anything else, and if you don't have it, it doesn't much matter what else you have. As you look back upon the events in your life you will find that the moments that stand out, the moments when you have really lived, are the moments when you have done things in a spirit of love.

Therefore, search for love. Once you have learned to love, you'll have learned to live. Love is the most important ingredient of your success.”

This all comes from a former coach and colleague of mine, Sam Maitz, who used to go by the nickname of “Motivational Mentor”. His Daily Motivation can be used to quickly focus, as well as be selectively passed on to your associates and team members. Anyone who wants to be on the list can. All he needs is a name and e-mail address to add you to his list, which you discontinue at any time, if you so choose. No gimmicks here. Just pure service. Why not try it? You can just e mail him directly with your request. That way, he should have your correct e-mail from your e-mail message. smaitz@lmi-inc.com

That’s it for now. Happy Holidays, to you and those you love. Til the next time, I am

Enthusiastically yours,

Don
