To all our highly valued clients and acquaintances:
Can you believe it’s almost November??
Now what are we going to do??
I want to offer you some quick suggestions for powerful year-end wrap up and beginning your prep for 2010. A few questions to consider, as a brief written exercise for yourself:
#1. If you haven’t done this already recently, dust off your 2009 goals. Or your 4th quarter goals. What were you thinking? Knowing what you now know, what’s your final focus?
Ask yourself these kind of questions, with regard to your life and your business:
What do I absolutely need to accomplish before 2010 or nothing else will really matter?
What’s the one big thing that I need to get nailed down and push over the finish line?
The proverbial pebble in the calm pond – what will cause the best positive ripple effect?
Or the domino effect – which one do I need to knock over that impacts everything else?
#2. What’s the big deal? Why are you doing this? As Nietzsche used to say (paraphrased)
“If we have a big enough why, the how is the details”
ASAP, write down 7-10 compelling and energizing reasons why you are taking this on
#3. In basic goal-setting speak, is your goal SMART?? Aka:
- Specific
- Measureable
- Achievable
- Realistic
- Trackable
#4. Your week-by-week breakdown on this goal, to make it real and make it happen?
Can you see it? Can you feel it? Can you believe it? Can you envision the process?
What are you going to do in the next 7 days? Today? Right now? You psyched about it?
#5. As we discussed in our last months issue,
Get and take all the help you can get
What are you reading? Who are you listening to? Collaborating with? Mentoring from?
#6. Don’t forget to plan to reward yourself in healthy, life-giving and celebratory ways.
Hope you go for it – whatever it is. Hope you have a blast as you go – parade in any rain.
BTW, ever hear of Sales Trainer/Biz Coach Jeffrey Gitomer?? http://www.gitomer.com/.
Also check amazon. I just invested ½ day with him @ a seminar – what a totally unique and unconventional hoot. Also seriously grounded on so many no-nonsense biz points.
2 key Jeffrey Gitomer take-aways for you to consider, for now:
Take care of your work, life, laugh balance – life is short – do what you love and love what you do or keep working your way in that direction – make it fun for you and others.
We’ve all heard “Think Globally, Act Locally” – try “Think Locally, Act Personally”.
Trademark your personalized service for your clients –hcreate a repute that precedes you.
Lastly, what you reading? Anything from last months suggestions? I completed the short “Predictable Results in Unpredictable Times” by Stephen R. Covey and Bob Whitman. I found it worthwhile. Currently on my reading runway?? Another short one:
