ALWAYS
TRY TO DO YOUR BEST AT EVERYTHING.
-----------------------------------------------
Make it your life rule of living to always do your best. It's your
constant effort to be first-class in everything you attempt that
will help you conquer the heights of excellence. Let superiority
become your trademark.
Do
a little more each day than you think you possibly can. There is
always a best way of doing everything. Find it. Do a little more
than average and from that point on your progress multiplies itself
out of all proportion to the effort you put out.
Do
more than you're supposed to do and you can or be or do or have
anything you want. If you want to enjoy enduring success, try traveling
a little in advance of the rest of the world. Your greatness will
come from being great in the little things.
To all our most valued clients and acquaintances:
Another
challenging year, to say the least. And it's Holiday Season time,
once again – one of the best times to reflect, refresh, renew, revitalize,
refocus, re-determine, recommit
In
this slightly revised re-issue of "Taking Yourself to the Next
Level", we want to offer you some guidelines (and some suggested
written exercises), designed to make the most of what you've experienced
in year 2003, as well as prepare most effectively for 2004.
Our
continuing premise/commitment is to assist you in designing/creating/having
a great life & then to help you develop your biz to support
the pursuit of your highest life dreams
To
put this all in a timely light, let us consider the following deas:
"...reflection
is vital - at every level, in every organization - and because burnout
is a very real threat
in today's hectic atmosphere, all executives should practice
the new three Rs: retreat, renewal, and return."
from
the bestseller, "On Becoming A Leader" by Warren
Bennis
SOME
SUGGESTIONS FOR MORE EFFECTIVE REFLECTION & PLANNING
December 2003/January 2004
In
preparation for your work for 2004 and beyond, we highly advocate
that you invest sufficient time and energy to seriously think about
the questions below.
We
specifically recommend you invest at least one uninterrupted hour
for this exercise and that you do it in writing. We would be happy
to discuss your results with you, if you think we can be of further
assistance. This written exercise is designed to make your time
and your life count even more, now and in the future.
A
QUICK DEBRIEF AND SUMMARY OF THE PREVIOUS YEAR OF 2003:
How
is it going? What have you accomplished and fulfilled?
What
worked? What did not work? What did you learn? What wisdom have
you gained?
Which
of your practice management and business development skills do you
believe deserve more focus, consistent with what's required to reach
your goals?
YOUR
GOALS AND PLANS IN PREPARATION FOR YEAR 2004 AND BEYOND:
What
do you want to create and accomplish with your biz in the next 3
to 5 years?
What
are you committed to do in the next 12 months that would be a clear-cut
stepping- stone for your 3 to 5 year picture, to bring you to an
indisputable next level?
What
are your top 3-5 goals exactly? In what order? What's going to make
your year?
Why
are you so motivated? (what'll get you flying out of bed in the
morning, everyday?)
Do
you consider your chosen goals to be truly doable?
What
do you anticipate might possibly get in the way of you making it
happen?
How
will you handle those challenges (including your biggest fears),
if they occur?
How
do you intend to feel, think & act differently that'll allow
for that accomplishment?
What
do you think is most important for you to learn at this point? From
who/where?
With
whom might it be helpful to partner/mentor in order to accomplish
your goals?
We
congratulate you, in advance, for investing your time/energy. Over
the years, many have reported to us the value they have gained from
completing a version of this process.
As
we previously stated, this written exercise is intended to serve
your best sense of fulfillment and the substantive accomplishment
of your most important goals for 2004 and beyond. If you like to
discuss it further, please feel free to call, fax or e mail Don
